This privacy policy applies to the Monty Reminder App app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Wan Theng Ng (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "as is".

The short version

Monty stores all of your data locally on your device. We don't collect, transmit or sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Note: All data is stored locally and is never transmitted to our servers or third parties.

Information you provide to us

We will collect and use the following information about you:

App preferences

• User name (optional)
• Selected character
• Voice reading preferences
• Onboarding completion status
• Overdue reminder follow-up settings

Task data

• Task titles, due dates, categories and completion status
• Task creation and modification timestamps
• Snooze counts and notification preferences
• Shared task metadata (sender names, tokens)

Sharing analytics

• Number of tasks you've shared
• Number of tasks you've accepted from others
• Timestamps of sharing events

Data we do not collect

• We do not collect names, email addresses or contact information (except optional user names)
• We do not collect location data
• We do not collect device identifiers for tracking
• We do not use analytics or advertising services

Children's privacy

Monty does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and does not require age verification.

2. How we use your information

All data is stored locally on your device using iOS Core Data and UserDefaults to:

• Display your tasks and reminders
• Provide character-specific responses based on your choices
• Enable task sharing between Monty users
• Customize your app experience

3. How we handle your data

Note: We do not store or transmit shared task data through our servers. Sharing happens directly between users via the iOS share sheet.

Data retention

• Your data remains on your device until you delete the app or manually delete tasks
• Deleting the app removes all locally stored data
• There is no cloud backup; data cannot be recovered after deletion

Data sharing

When you share a task with another user:

• A shareable URL is generated containing the task details
• You control when and with whom you share this URL
• The recipient can accept or decline the shared task
• Share links expire after 7 days for security

Data transfers

Monty does not transfer your data to servers or third parties, except:

• iOS notifications delivered via Apple Push Notification Service

All processing happens locally on your device.

4. Your rights

You have complete control over your data to:

• Access: View all your tasks and preferences within the app
• Delete: Remove individual tasks or clear all data by deleting the app
• Export: Share tasks with others using the sharing feature
• Control: Toggle features like voice reading and notifications

5. Security

• All data is stored using iOS secure storage mechanisms (Core Data, UserDefaults)
• Share tokens use UUID generation and expire after 7 days
• No passwords or sensitive authentication data is collected
• App security relies on iOS device security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID)

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app
• Updating the "Effective Date" above
